10 Of The Coolest Bedrooms Owned By Girls On Film

Sleep tite.

There is no better demonstration of pure bliss than being perched on your bed, surrounded by all of your excellent things. The three books on your bedside table that define exactly who you are. The minimum amount of seven pillows. The polaroids and magazine clippings tacked above your desk. That vintage dress you bought to hang on your wall because it is art. The record that you decidedly put at the front of the pile. The tattered Vans and posh Marni sandals that are intentionally displayed next to each other because "get yourself a girl who can do both". The cute perfume bottles and YSL lip tint surrounded by your everyday jewellery. The tote bag with the kewl slogan that shares the door handle with the pride-of-your-life Miu Miu cross body. The succulent that you refuse to let die, again. This is where it's at. Your little universe that is best described using the A-OK hand emoji.

As a tribute to this holy habitat that is the bedroom, here's a list of the bedrooms lived in by cool girls in movies. Here are a few we'd almost trade for our own:

1. Riff Randell, Rock 'n' Roll Highschool

Not only did Riff Randell wear ridiculous outfits (inclusive of those lightning shades), have the balls to takeover the school radio, smoke joints and hallucinate Dee Dee Ramone in her shower, but she also had the coolest girl room. Those giant satin pillows, giant speakers, and huge amounts of Ramones memorabilia were pretty damn great.

2. Lisbon girls, The Virgin Suicides

Floral fabrics strewn across the floor, amber lighting, a particularly hazardous amount of candles, and a pink bra hanging from the crucifix above the bed (remember when Hole's 'Doll Parts' was about you?). Plus the most revered interior design element for any teen girl — a window seat.

3. Enid Coleslaw, Ghostworld

Who else had a great time explaining that they wanted animal skin pillow cases, but not in a sexy way, to their mums after seeing Enid's bedroom?

5. Kat Stratford, 10 Things I Hate About You

Juliana Hatfield and 7 Year Bitch posters covered every surface of Kat's room apart from her antique bed and cool sun and moon tapestry. An inspiration to us all.

6. Cher Horowitz, Clueless

A minimal space with art deco influences, and a centre piece made up entirely of dope outfits. Oh, and that computer wardrobe situation. Still want it.

7. Amy Blue, Doom Generation

Rose McGowan plays the surly and incredible Amy Blue in one of Gregg Araki's best films Doom Generation. It's part of a trilogy of films that all have incredible styling in each and every scene. Amy Blue's room in Doom Generation is so legit. Checkerboard everything — including the TV.

8. Kathryn Merteuil, Cruel Intentions

Kathryn is a monster but her room is sexy af. That curtained blue bed is fit for some kind of harem, and the furniture has so much majesty it costs money just to be around.

9. Margaret, Liquid Sky

Club kid/drug dealer/vessel for aliens, Margaret, has a neon-lit bedroom that is so nu wave it basically comes out of the screen and pokes you in the eye. It also has access to a rooftop that looks over NYC... she sits up there and dreams about moving to Berlin.

10. Juliet, Romeo + Juliet

So soft and pure, Juliet's room is lit by the light of little angel statues that sleep at her feet. She also has a baby pink boom box, because it's Baz Luhrmann we're talking about. Oh, and that bed sheet scene happened in here, a perfect bedroom doth make.
