A 'Heathers' TV Anthology Is Happening, How Very

Lick it up, baby.
In 1989 Winona Ryder and Christian Slater starred in the genius dark comedy/anti-bullying PSA Heathers. Now a TV anthology is being based off it, and it sounds like it could be amazing.
While the parts haven't been cast yet, there is some info what type of humans the Heathers might be (hint: not three white chicks). Hollywood Reporter says that each season will see a new cast, kind of like American Horror Story. For season 1, "Heather McNamara (originally played by Lisanne Falk) is a black lesbian; Heather Duke (Shannen Doherty) is a male who identifies as gender-queer whose real name is Heath; and Heather Chandler (Kim Walker) has a body like Martha Dumptruck." There's no word on who'll play Winona's Veronica or Christian's J.D. but they better get it right. Right?
The costume and set design needs some very careful attention, too. Veronica had some serious looks, especially that off-the-shoulder number.
And J.D.'s dad's house was that weird and great stone temple where even the radio was cast in concrete.
Plus that funeral scene with the 3D glasses is the exact perfect way to be dead.
