Acne Resort 2013 Lookbook

It's right on the money.

Acne's Creative Director Jonny Johansson was inspired by Madonna's 'Ray of Light' video for Resort 2012. He took cues not so much from the double denim aspect of the video, but rather from its fast pace, creating a collection for a nonchalant cool girl who gets ready in minutes.

Purple, emerald, green and gold are paired with neutral and white in the range, striking a balance between eccentric and easily wearable. In typical Acne style, there are bursts of leather among the fresh cotton and linen pieces, with accessories including patterned reading glasses, giant clutches and slouchy wide-brimmed hats in assorted colours.

One of the standout pieces is the money printed blazer. That image might give you visions of a pimp-style get-up — and yes, this collection does feature a lot wide-brim hats — but they're more street style than Snoop Dogg. A little typographical bravado doesn't go astray either, with the brand's name climbing boldly up the sleeve of a leather jacket.
