Agyness Deyn Cast in Film Adaptation
The model will play a Scottish farm girl in an adaptation of a Scottish novel.
Agyness Deyn has been cast in a film adaptation of classic Scottish novel Sunset Song. She will play a young lass dealing with some pretty heavy issues including her mother's suicide, incestuous advances from her stroke-victim father and the responsibility of loooking after the family farm all on her lonesome. Even when she does finally meet a guy, he is sent to war practically the next day. Based on the 1932 novel by Lewis Grassic Gibbon, the film will also star Peter Mullan with Brit Terence Davies set to direct. Filming for Sunset Song will start later this year.
This isn't the British model's first foray into acting. She's been featured in a number of shorts, as well 2010's Clash of the Titans, and West End production The Leisure Society earlier this year. She also has a role in Pusher, which is currently in post-production. Pusher is based on a 1996 Danish cult-classic about the life of a drug dealer, and she plays the stripper girlfriend of a gangster.
