Alex Wall from Bleeding Knees Club Took Some Photos of Goths

"I think goth girls are hot girls because they are kinda scary and intimidating."

Alex Wall is the lead singer and guitarist of terrific garage pop band Bleeding Knees Club, but did you know that he also takes photos? Well, he does! And they're good!

Yesterday afternoon his new series 'Goths' landed in our inbox, and we wanted to hang out with/drink vials of blood and write poetry about how dark our hearts are with this endearing group of misfits.

We caught up with Alex and asked him about his interest in this subculture (which, for some of us, is reminiscent of our formative years spent loitering at train stations and wearing chokers).

Ingrid Kesa: Why are goth girls hot girls?
Alex Wall: I think goth girls are hot girls because they are kinda scary and intimidating, and I kinda feel as if they would try and kill me and suck my blood in my sleep. There is something weirdly hot about that.

What did you shoot the photos on?
I used a Minolta Hi-matic GF. It's just a little point-and-shoot film camera.

Best goth band?
I reckon Bauhaus. 'She's in Parties' is a real cool song.

What are you working on at the moment?
At the moment I'm not really working on anything [laughs]. I'm just kinda taking personal photos and more focusing on my band and trying to write a new album and stuff.
