Azealia Banks x MAC & Andy Warhol x Nars
Two new beauty collaborations to look forward to.
She doesn't shy away from Twitter beefs and she's liberal with the C-bomb — Azealia Banks is definitely no wallflower. Having danced for Alexander Wang, charmed Karl Lagerfeld, and blown our minds with her 1991 mixtape, it's really no surprise that the 21-year-old rapper has been immortalised in her own signature lipstick by make-up lords M.A.C (who we featured in our 100th issue). The semi-matte dark purple 'Yung Rapunxel' shade will be available online from 5 September and in-store the following day. Don't pretend you don't want to put it on and lose your shit to '212'.
If 'Yung Rapunxel' sells out within the hour — which it probably will — another beauty collaboration has been announced. NARS, who teamed up with Thakoon for a pastel hair-inspired nail polish line earlier this year, is releasing a collection of pop art-themed cosmetics in collaboration with the Andy Warhol Foundation. The super shiny lipglosses and bold nail polishes have Warhol-printed packaging and the the purple, aqua and black eyeshadows are totally Sedgwick-worthy. A 'Warhol Pop Art' line will hit Sephora on 1 October, while the 'Silver Factory' collection will be released in department stores from 1 November. With prices starting at US$18, everyone can have their fifteen minutes of fame. In Australia the collection will be stocked exclusively at Mecca Cosmetica from 14 October.
