Courtney Love's Art Exhibition
'Suicide Fuck Bombers' is just what it sounds like.
Courtney Love reveals her new found artistic talent in paintings that are a little bit messed-up. If you were wondering what Courtney has been up to during the Twitter family feud, it includes creating these unsettling artworks.
The paintings combine Gwyneth Paltrow, Robert Frost and doll-like girls in vulnerable mental states, and will feature in her upcoming exhibition. And She's Not Even Pretty is about the way girls put each other down and the artworks are (like the woman herself) emotionally raw and a bit in your face. They feature titles like 'Oh Yeah? Bring It Motherfuckers' (depicting a girl on a crucifix) and 'Suicide Fuck Bomber' (which is exactly what you'd imagine). Nobody could ever say subtlety was Courtney's strong suit.
Courtney said that making art is "embracing this thing in my life that's haunted me", and the results are definitely haunting. The exhibition will open on May 3rd at the Fred Torres Collaborations gallery in New York City. In the meantime you can take a look at these unfinished works and go behind the scenes with Courtney.
