Deadly Ponies 'Okapi Rider' SS11/12 Lookbook
Welcome to the jungle.
Deadly Ponies' SS11/12 collection 'Okapi Rider' is inspired by artist Walton Ford and his surrealist paintings of savage animals. As such, the collection is a wild safari of zebra prints, dyed calf hides, deer and lamb skins, and goat fur fringing which busts through the seams of bags as though it's alive and untamed. There are blues which would not be out of place on a peacock's plumage and camel-coloured tans, offset by a hot desert orange. The oft-overlooked African okapi also informs the collection (Google it now. It is a cross-between a giraffe and a zebra and it is, like, the cutest thing ever). In addition, designer Liam Bowden has conquered the challenge of conjuring the perfect-sized bag, with the new pouch and box shapes being just right. The craftsmanship and details - like brass hardware - means you will want to hunt these bags down.
The new season bags are in-store now at Incu, The Corner Shop, Alice Euphemia, Prettydog, Alphaville, Cultstatus and other select retailers.
