Eastpak x Krisvanassche AW12/13 Lookbook
A collection of bags inspired by workwear.
Not only does Kris Van Assche have his own label and hold post as Dior Homme's Artistic Director, he is about to release a third collab collection with backpack brand Eastpak into stores. Titled 'Work' the collection builds on functionality to present a line that pays tribute to workwear.
Kris has done Eastpak proud by using sturdy materials to create a range of backpacks, messengers, shoppers and suitcases that are as durable as they are handsomely hard-shell. Graphic prints of screws and nails add to the workwear thing, while the industrial theme is reinterpreted with a subtle dose of twee. This collection is nothing if not masculine and the lookbook, shot by Bruno Staub, reflects this masculinity via a male model with an amazing haircut whose job is apparently to stand around and look good whilst holding a skateboard.
There are eight designs in total, all of which are available in three colour ways (dark brown, black and blue). In the grand tradition of all things Eastpak, their logo is embossed on black leather and nickel-plated zips, just so you don’t forget who made that sweet bag of yours.
'Work' was shown at Paris Fashion Week earlier this year and will be available for purchase from July.
