Exclusive: Dion Lee AW13 Behind-The-Scenes
Take a sneak peek at the new lookbook!
This morning we went behind-the-scenes on the lookbook shoot for Dion Lee's AW13 'Transit' collection, which he showed at London Fashion Week last month. With this collection he proves once again that he is not just a fashion designer but also part architect and scientist. See those hypercolour psychedelic prints? They were derived from photographs of the human body taken with a thermal image camera, which were then distorted to appear like topographic maps. There is also a lot of other crazy shit going down: painted rubber and thermal bonding allow for sculptural shapes; leather is slashed and woven for breathability; single garments have multiple transparencies; prints are made three-dimensional through folded fabrics.
