Exclusive: Kirin J Callinan x Cara Stricker 'Internet Confusion' Interview

A behind-the-scenes look at their creative process while collaborating on 'Embracism'.

Kirin J Callinan landed in The States, signed with XL, played some epic shows, landed in Europe, played more epic shows, went back to The States, and this week embarks on a US tour with Ariel Pink. Every other human is officially not doing enough. Kirin's highly-anticipated debut album Embracism is out on 28 June (later this month he'll return home for a national tour — details below), and we've already been presented with the visuals for the record's title track. Cara Stricker (who shot the cover story for our Peace Issue) collaborated with Kirin on the video, which you can watch below.

Exclusively for Oyster, Cara and Kirin have created an incredible 'internet confusion' interview which acts as a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process between each other when working on 'Embracism'. Made-up of chopped Skype footage and digital debris, Cara explains that the (anti) interview is about their "incongruent communication due to fails of technology, and our serious issue of communication with each other. It was created between Sydney, LA and New York while Kirin was on tour, when it was impossible to get hold of one another. This is what happened when we tried to chat; two minds meeting..."

Enjoy!
