Exclusive: Lonely Hearts AW13 Lookbook

Bad to the bone.

It's no wonder that NZ label Lonely Hearts has a cult-like following — they keep doing great and wondrous fashion things such as AW13 collection 'Badsville'. These are the kind of clothes worn by the kids from the wrong side of the track who probably pash boys behind the sports shed and steal their big sister's cigarettes (aka everyone you wanted to be in high school).

AW13 was inspired by, in designer Steve Ferguson's words, "getting high and reading old Goosebumps books". Leopard print, baggy denim, translucent silk, plaid velvet and dip-dye references in equal part a mix of 90s sci-fi horror films (on VHS — duh), speed metal album covers and 90s west coast rap. So on point.

See the lookbook above, styled by Zara Mirkin and shot by Rene Vaile (and check out this month's Beauty Daily also photographed by Rene, which began today!).
