Oyster Mix: Collarbones

Teen heartache from The-Dream, Aaliyah, Mariah Carey and more.

Collarbones are Travis Cook and Marcus Whale, two unlikely pals from opposite ends of Australia (that's Adelaide and Sydney respectively), who met via the internet. Thank god for the internet, right? After chatting each other up, the pair exchanged music and tastes, and pieced together a distinctly 'internet' sound, using drum machines, vocoders and carefully distorted instrumentation.

Collarbone's sophomore album Die Young is a meditation on the throes of teen heartache, and they've been kind enough to make us a mixtape in the same vein. It's an R&B affair (and it's REALLY GOOD!), and you can expect plenty of heartbreak anthems from the likes of Mariah Carey and Aaliyah, as well as Azealia Banks, The-Dream and Disclosure.
