Fashion's Favourite Playboy Moments
The infamous men's mag takes an X-rated trip down memory lane.
Vena Cava on the March 1960 cover — 'This is an amazing image: a cross between a movie still and an art piece, and ever so slightly out of focus'
Before Kim Kardashian and Girls Of The Playboy Mansion there were Ursula Andress and Farrah Fawcett. There were even short stories by Vladimir Nabokov, Doris Lessing, John Irving and Margaret Atwood ? not that written words were ever the main reason for people to purchase Playboy. But whether you're after visual stimulation, quality literature or interviews with a pre-tiger blood Charlie Sheen, you can get them all online at iPlayboy.com.
The infamous men's magazine has made all its archives available on phone, laptop and iPad, and to celebrate they asked notable members of fashion and culture's elite to share their favourite moments in Playboy history. Those who took part included fashion designer Jeremy Scott, NYC hotelier Andre Balazs, jewellery designer Waris Ahluwalia, fashion duo Vena Cava and filmmaker David Gordon Green.
Unsurprisingly Kim Kardashian didn't make the cut, and most of the images chosen were rather clean literally, in the case of May 1959's cover. Have a peek at the shots below (accompanied by commentary) and if you're still craving something totally NSFW you can always head to iPlayboy to subscribe to up to two years worth of high-res hotties (including Daisy Lowe, who has just been announced as this September's centrefold).
