Finally! iPhones can make GIFs

FINALLY.

Still using Instagram? Well get thee to the App Store, because Flixel is gonna blow all other iPhone photography apps out of the water.

This brand new app is riding the animated GIF wave that's currently rocking the internet, allowing you to make stunning moving images with a few swipes of the finger — no expensive camera equipment required. Co-founders Phillippe LeBlanc and Mark Homza were inspired by those fancy GIFs by the fancy name of “Cinemagraphs" popularised on the Tumblr blog From Me To You, which so artfully blur the line between photo and video.

After mucking around with the Flixel for 20 minutes or so with little success we handed the reigns to our more nimble-fingered designer, who made these moving versions of Oyster's latest issue:

It's more or less the long weekend now anyway, so stop pretending to do work and go download this app.
