Fiona Apple Goes Head-To-Head with Texas Police Department
They tell her to "just shut up and sing."
Last week, Fiona Apple was arrested on drug charges and now she cements her Snoop Dogg-like street cred in an onstage rant. During a performance in Houston, she told fans about the dirt she got on the police during her night behind bars (before she was released on $10,000 bail).
In the rant, Fiona claims that she overheard the police talking about things that they had done which were "inappropriate and probably illegal." She says that the information she overheard is hidden in her "lock boxes" and "holding cells" which we believe is code for 'you ain't got shit on me'. The singer/songwriter also threatened the cops, saying, "I'll make you fucking famous any time you ask and I'll open those boxes. So why don't you stay in your fucking holding cell?"
TMZ reports that Rusty Fleming (best stereotypical cop name ever) of the Hudspeth County Sheriff's office responded to the claims in a condescending letter, advising Fiona to "just shut up and sing."
