Fred Perry and Richard Nicoll
Taking a leaf from Teddy Girls.
For their Spring Summer 'Laurel Wreath' collection of 2011, Fred Perry have collaborated with Richard Nicoll to create a womenswear collection that blends Nicoll's colour-blocked femininity with Fred Perry's uniquely British brand of sportswear. Taking inspiration from the 'Teddy Girls' of the fifties, the collection 8 pencil skirts, cropped trousers, printed silk dresses and soft, cotton shirts in peach and powder-blue. John Flynn of Fred Perry has said of the collaboration, "Richard was the perfect designer for the brand to partner. His signature style of feminising traditionally masculine shapes and silhouettes suited us perfectly. Like most people who work with and for the brand he is a true fan and has an understanding and respect of Fred Perry's unique history and heritage."
