Future Classic x Daniel Shipp Exhibition
Opening tomorrow night at Somedays.
Some believe that having your photograph taken will steal your soul. This may or may not be the case but there is a photographer out there who has come close. Sydney lad, Daniel Shipp, has gone and taken the attitude so well cultivated by the likes of Sebastian Tellier, Little Dragon, Toro Y Moi and other artists who have worked with the Future Classic record label and sealed it in a series of black and white portraits. Opening tomorrow night, the photos are going to be on display at Surry Hills' Somedays Gallery for two months, and they are well worth a gander if you like your boys hairy and your girls pouty. Or maybe you are just a regular groupie and would like to gaze upon the faces of Todd Terje, Mount Kimbie, Jazzanova and Holy Ghost!. At the very least this is one way to get intimate with your favourite bands without the fear of a pesky restraining order.
Now really, how could the musicians behind these tracks not make for a damn fine photograph?
The exhibition will feature portraits of:
