George Michael Touring Australia

The one and only.

Attempts to find an artist in this day and age who rivals George Michael's pop sensibilities are significantly dampened as we progress further away from the late eighties, and closer towards an age of auto-tune domination. Despite having myself missed the golden age of synth-pop, even I can readily admit that there are few popstars that ignite a similar level of pure, unadulterated and entirely shameless delight as George Michael. All this being true, you could be forgiven for deeming news of an Australian tour the most exciting news you hear all week.

The former Wham! singer is bringing his Symphonica tour to Australian audiences in March and April next year, in what could very well be the most exciting event of 2012. It's not every day you have the chance to see a grown, highly paid adult male with an unsurpassed ability to pull of such confronting facial hair. While exact dates and venues are yet to be confirmed, we can tell you that tickets will go on sale on December 2 from Ticketek.

Here's 'Faith' to get you in the mood!

***Edit 26/11/11***

George Michael has postponed all remaining tour dates for 2011 after being diagnosed with pneumonia. He has been ordered to take time off and has been receiving round-the-clock care at Austria's AKH General Hospital in Vienna. No word as to whether his 2012 tour dates will go ahead. We wish George a speedy recovery.
