Grace Coddington's Twitter Takeover

Talks about her cat Pumpkin, Ryan Gosling, and her modelling comeback.
Grace covers the current issue of i-D, shot by Arthur Elgort

To promote her autobiography Grace: A Memoir, Grace Coddington commandeered US Vogue’s Twitter account yesterday for an #askgrace session with readers. In addition to having the best hair in the business, not to mention the balls to stand up to Anna Wintour (as seen in The September Issue), Grace is also one of the few people in fashion who says what they think. Her disclaimer before the session started: “I can't believe I am doing this. I hope I don't screw it up. I hope I can keep it clean. — GC”

Below are some highlights, but for more on Grace, buy her book!

From @tkbarnes23: I adore your work, and you've inspired me to start a career in fashion, hopefully one day in your position. Advice?
You can have it now — I'm busy working on my book! — GC

From @MelissaCamp1: What living person(s) outside the fashion world inspire your work?
That’s a few too many to choose from. One that comes to mind is Pedro Almodovar — GC

From @dwightthethird: hi Ms. Coddington! who is that one person you'd secretly wish to see on the cover of Vogue?
Pumpkin — GC [Ed's Note: Pumpkin appeared in the below Vogue editorial with Karen Elson, but is yet to grace the cover.]

From @fashionologie: What's the craziest thing that's happened on one of your sets?
I don’t know about on set, but this Twitter takeover is getting pretty wild — GC

From @CristinaDamora: Anything you wish you'd known in your late twenties?
How good it is to be 70 — GC

From @frenchgirlnyc: What is your beauty routine and any favorite products you use?
Soap and water — GC
@frenchgirlnyc: You are low maintenance and yet so lovely. xx
You don't know the half of it — GC

From @BennyAtLast: May I braid your hair? Just to see how it looks!
That sounds creepy — GC

From @hectorroblesm: Do you miss your days as a model?
I'm making a comeback on the cover of @iD_magazine — GC

From @officialkaram: If you had to date Ryan Gosling or Channing Tatum, who would you pick?
Ryan Gosling — GC

From @tesoshay: If you only had enough time to save one person from a burning building, would you save Anna or your cat?
Well, Anna’s pretty slim and both cats are small, so I think I could save them all — GC

From @ashleyyag1: Did you enjoy filming The September Issue?
Eventually — GC

Any my personal favourite:
From @SatorialGirl: If your life was a movie, what movie would it be?
A Movie — GC

Signing off: "Thanks this was far more fun than I expected. I am going to go have a drink now. I think I need a vodka tonic — GC"
