Guest Playlist: Deep Sea Arcade

If you like psych rock (or happen to be on acid), this one's for you.

After touring with people like Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, The Charlatans, Modest Mouse, Cloud Control, and Kaiser Chiefs, the wonderful Deep Sea Arcade have just embarked on an Australia-wide tour off the back of their debut album, Outlands. They've made us a playlist to celebrate, appropriately titled 'Flying'. It's full of psych rock — from the 60s all the way through to whatever we're meant to call the decade we're in right now — so it's no coincidence that most of the videos accompanying the songs appear to come from Winamp visualisers.

(You can either play the videos here on our site, or click through to YouTube to watch them all in a row.)

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club — 'Ha Ha High Babe'

Black Angels — 'Yellow Elevator #2'

Richard Hawley — 'She Brings the Sunlight'

The Horrors — 'Moving Further Away'

Bo Hansson — 'The Black Riders' (from Music Inspired by Lord of the Rings)

Holger Czukay — 'Ode to Perfume'

J.K. & Co. — 'Fly'

Wooden Shjips — 'Flight'

Neil Young — 'Cowgirl In The Sand'

Buffalo Springfield — 'Expecting To Fly'

Here are Deep Sea Arcade covering The Chemical Brothers' 'Let Forever Be' (as endorsed by The Chemical Brothers themselves).

And here's the new Deep Sea Arcade single, 'Seen No Right'.

Deep Sea Arcade have kicked off their tour in Sydney, and are yet to play the following dates:

June 7 — Transit Bar, Canberra
June 8 — Pheonix Public House, Canberra
June 9 — Karova Lounge, Ballarat
June 14 — Jive Bar, Adelaide
June 15 — Indie Bar, Perth
