Hailee Steinfeld Miu Miu Video By Bruce Weber
The pair of glitter pumps is our spirit animal.
We first saw Miu Miu's Fall 2011 campaign back in June, which takes Hailee Steinfeld as its star. The fourteen-year-old True Grit actress has to be one of the most ladylike teenagers around; even eating pizza she still manages to maintain the decorum of a Swiss finishing school graduate. The campaign imagery, shot by Bruce Weber, also depicts Steinfeld lying in the grass looking dreamy and hanging out by train tracks looking dreamy. And, of course, those glitter pumps - you know the ones that you mentally conjure every time you're having a crap day just to remind yourself that happiness exists?
Now a video version to accompany the campaign has been released and watching it is a wonderful way to wile away five minutes. Called Portrait of Hailee, the video looks to the 1940's and is formatted like a series of vignettes, showing Steinfeld in a numerous languid but highly glamorous poses. It also 8 an epic orchestral soundtrack and one particularly heavenly orange floral dress.
Miuccia Prada has a knack for picking models that make us want to buy her clothes - Maggie Gyllenhaal, Kirsten Dunst and Lindsay Lohan (okay, so she kind of dropped the ball with that last one, but still).
