Hurricane Sandy: Instagram Edition

Featuring photos by Coco Rocha and Nabil.

Hurricane Sandy passed through New York overnight leaving behind a trail of descruction, much of which was captured on Instagram. Despite being told to remain indoors, more than 500,000 images have been posted online under #sandy #hurricanesandy and #frankenstorm. Many of these photos were taken outside, proving that some people are very brave/crazy and that almost anyone can be photojournalist. The activity is being tracked on storm site instacane.com along with some pretty good fake photographs. The people who did remain indoors obviously needed something to do.

Here is a gallery of some of the best shots. Our thoughts go out to our friends in New York.
