inside the ksubi circle
As expected, RAFW's final show - the Ksubi show - was all spectacle. Four huge screens hung perilously above us, as the crowd sat arranged in a circle within the echoing expanse of an empty hall at Fox Studios. A hells creepy movie played out above, which flickered between an army of black-clad soldiers marching in a ring and a masked contortionist rolling backwards across the floor in the style of some Japanese cult-horror creature. As the screens went static-y, a halo of flashing lights ascended from around a giant black box in the centre of the room. And out of it marched the models, who had been waiting, lined up and ready, in a tunnel beneath us. Later, a food fight erupted post-show. Backstage photos by Hobo.
