Jared Leto's Transformation Into The Joker Is Complete

Suicide Squad director David Ayers took to Twitter to reveal the first full look at Jared Leto as The Joker, and it looks like he's going to be one utterly terrifying super baddie. Instead of a purple suit, Leto's Joker wears nothing but grills, a plastic glove, and a bunch of very lol tattoos — we mean that literally, since many of his tatts actually spell out, "HA HA HA HA HA."

This new incarnation of the Joker will appear in the upcoming DC film Suicide Squad, about a motley crew of villains and anti-heroes recruited by the government for a suicide mission, and will probably be a pretty grown-up and dark take on the superhero genre (think Watchmen, rather than The Avengers).

In fact, the Joker has been getting progressively darker and weirder since he first appeared on screen in the 1960s. Here's Cesar Romero's camp version from the 1966 Batman film:

Suicide Squad is scheduled to be released on August 5, 2016.
