Karla Spetic AW12 Lookbook

Pop art, leopard print and a pair of baby blue overalls.

Karla Spetic diverges from her usual design aesthetic with AW12's collection, 'Heart'. Having become renowned for her prints (remember her collaboration with Caitlin Shearer in AW10 and her Australian outback prints in SS11?), this time Spetic puts lashings of leopard next to pop art prints adapted from the work of Roy Lichtenstein. The full circle skirt shapes are a little fifties / Mad Men inclined, however these garments are made modern with sheer organza.

A colour palette of blush, baby blue and dove grey tempers these prints and keeps them from being overbearing, while deep red and acid yellow act as jolts of colour on a dreary winters day. Military-inspired coats are as perfect paired with tailored pants or a dress, and there's a new attention to shirting.
