Kenzo Resort 2013 Lookbook
Happy campers.
There's a mountaineering vibe to Kenzo's Resort 2013 collection. Silhouettes are amplified and oversized, but can also morph into shape via (neon!) drawstrings, zippers and snaps, which — to borrow a dad-phrase — are quite 'nifty'. Cargo pants are usually pretty revolting, but Kenzo — under the creative direction of Opening Ceremony's Humberto Leon and Carol Lim — manage to make them incredibly cool.
A colourful, clashing leopard print is what we imagine Fran Drescher to wear when in the wild (which is a good thing), while heeled hiking boots and parachute parkers also pick up on the great outdoors feel. A fun print derived from Kenzo's leaping tiger logo and the snakeskin platform sandals are a favourite. The label's signature No. 18 bowling bag features an extra-techy touch this season — a built-in iPad case, making for happy campers all-round.
Can't you just imagine Susie Bubble wearing all of this?
On a related note, stay tuned for Kenzo's FW12 campaign, shot by Jean-Paul Goude.
