Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore Divorce

After 27 years of marriage, Sonic Youth bandmates Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore have announced their divorce. The rumours were confirmed through an official statement released by Sonic Youth's record label since 2009, Matador Records, stating that the couple are going their own separate ways. Nevertheless, the band will continue with its South American tour next month. Married since 1984, Gordon and Moore have always shied away from media attention and are making a request for their privacy, which we wholeheartedly respect.
In 2008, Moore told Spin Magazine, "I can't think of how or where I'd be without Kim's influence. And we're like any couple that's been together for close to 30 years. There's a genuine psychophysical connection. Sometimes I feel things happening in me, and I know that something's going on with her. When you're married and you have that kind of connection, you become really spiritually, psychologically connected. We grew up together, in a way."
