Kristen Stewart And Nicholas Hoult Feel Feelings In First Trailer For 'Equals' [Watch]
Kristen Stewart and Nicholas Hoult are teaming up to lend their good acting skills/perfect features to a new sci-fi flick called Equals. In what looks like a mix between the romantic tragedy of Romeo + Juliet and the dystopian feels of Gattaca, the film is set in a future in which human beings live in a perfect, harmonious society, because they've all been bred to be completely free of emotions.
Enter Kristen and Nicholas, two members of this society who start experiencing "Switched On Syndrome," aka normal human feelings. And when they begin to fall in love, things start to get complicated because having feelings is a crime punishable by death. This is familiar territory for director Drake Doremus, whose previous films Like Crazy and Breathe In also deal with unrequited or impossible love. The stacked cast also includes Guy Pearce, Bel Powley and total ledge Jacki Weaver, and will show at the Toronto Film Festival ahead of its general release.
For now, watch the very serene clip that's full of long, lingering glances, white jumpsuits and so much understated emotion.
