Lady Gaga Meets Julian Assange

The pair drink tea at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London.

One minute she's hanging out topless with Donatella Versace and a miniature hybrid dog, the next minute she's visiting Julian Assange. In what is a confusing series of events, Lady Gaga has paid a visit to the Wikileaks founder at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London.

No one is sure what the strange bedfellows spoke about, but Wikileaks has a loose connection to Gaga given that Wikileaks source Bradley Manning "would come in with music on a CD-RW labelled with something like 'Lady Gaga'… erase the music… then write a compressed split file. No one suspected a thing... [I] listened and lip-synched to Lady Gaga's 'Telephone' while exfiltrating possibly the largest data spillage in American history."

Little Monsters are making their own speculations about the meet-up between these two disparate icons. On the Operation Gaga forum, one user comments, "they look really cute. I think he's cute but he's god [sic] a little man boob thing going on there. So, no [sic] exactly sexy," while another says, "I bet Lady Gaga can sneak Julian Assange out of the country in one of her fancy fashion hats." Another asks, "who?" at the mention of his name. (And that, my friends, is why you shouldn't look at Lady Gaga forums).

Other people are speculating that M.I.A was also there, though there are no photos showing her entering or leaving the embassay. She tweeted the following at Gaga, but has since deleted it:

Perhaps looking to broaden her political horizons after the inception of her Body Revolution, Lady Gaga has also joined the Artists Against Fracking campaign (which includes Sonic Youth, who are in our latest issue, The Flaming Lips, The B-52's, Beck, The Strokes and many more) which speaks out against the controversial method of extracting gas and oil.

Gaga for President.
