Listen: Daft Punk's Mix for Saint Laurent
Pretend you're walking the runway at Paris Fashion Week.
Negative reviews and internet freak-outs aside, one thing that Hedi Slimane's debut show for Saint Laurent undeniably had going for it was the soundtrack. Masked electronic wizards Daft Punk created the 15-minute mix using music by late blues artist Junior Kimbrough. It's a different sound for Daft Punk — especially if your first mental association with them is double dropping eccy's during 'Technologic' and enjoying the laser lights a little too much at their 2007 Sydney show which apparently half of the country's population was at. Nevertheless, it is an enjoyable piece of audio.
