Max Blagg's 'Writing on the Wall' Exhibition Now Showing in New York
At Show Room gallery.
Ladies leave yo' man at home — our genius contributor, favourite silver fox and infamous NYC poesier, Max Blagg, has a show on right now called Writing on the Wall. The title's either in reference to the fact that he has hung excerpts of his poems on the walls of a gallery, or the hit album from Destiny's Child. I'm guessing the former, knowing Max as well as I do.
Max has lived in New York City since 1972, which means that he was jumpin', jumpin' in the clubs before yours truly was born. Throughout his expansive career, he's read one of his poems for a Gap commercial, collaborated with artists like Jack Pierson and Richard Prince, made a magazine, Bald Ego, with Glenn O'Brien, and authored a book called From Here to Maternity. What a star!
Help him pay the bills, bills, bills and drop by Show Room before the show ends on 23 June.
