Meet the Model: Rebecca @ Ford/Work Agency

There's a new kid on the block.
Throwing up a casual devil horn.

A few months ago 15 models came into our office for a casting. After introducing myself with the eloquence of an adolescent male who had just seen a woman for the first time in real life and not on TV, I proceeded to fall down the flight of stairs in our foyer. It made such a scene that a passerby on the street came in to ask me if I was okay. Physically I was fine. Emotionally, not so much. I remember being sprawled on the floor with grazed knees, looking up at these 15 angelic faces peering down on me. The rest I blocked out.

It had been a while since I had embarrassed myself in front of beautiful people, so it was due time to get some models into the office. The first girl I worked my magic on (tried not to slip over on a banana peel in front of) was Rebecca. She had legs for days, beachy blond hair and a camo singlet. She's fairly new to modeling but expect to see her all up in your grill soon.

Ingrid Kesa: Hi Rebecca, how old are you?
Rebecca: I'm 20.

What agency are you with?
I'm with Work Agency in Sydney and Ford in New York.

When did you get into modeling?
A couple of years ago but I waited until now to do it properly because I wanted to wait until I was old enough and could take it all on.

How did you get into modeling; were you scouted?
Yes, I was scouted while shopping in Newcastle.

Are you just doing modeling now or do you work on the side?
I've got a casual job, I do one or two days a week there. It's just at a shoe shop in Newcastle and then, yeah, the rest of the time I'm in Sydney.

Have you been to any overseas shows yet?
No, not yet. I went to New York in March and met with my agency and signed with them and worked on my book but I haven't done any shows yet.

When will you be heading overseas?
At the moment I'm just working on my book here and getting as much experience as I can before I go back overseas but I plan to go back next year, maybe mid to end year.

Is there a particular song you’re listening to at the moment on repeat?
No, not really, just Triple J! I love the J's. Anything on Triple J I listen to.

What's your favourite item of clothing that you own at the moment?
At the moment it's my leather skirt that I'm wearing now!
