Florence Shakes it Out in Valentino.
'Shake It Out' is the first official single from Florence + The Machine's sophomore album, Ceremonials. In the interim between recording, frontwoman Florence has become known just as much for her fashion savvy red carpet choices as she has her amazing vocal talent, favouring romantic creations by Gucci, YSL and Valentino. So it is no surprise to see her dressed in the latest Valentino couture collection in her new vid. Check it out below.
The video begins with Florence in a black velvet floor-length tuxedo dress before descending a flight of stairs and joining the revelries of a crazy masked ball. Something about the lighting and the architecture, the freaky masks and Florence's slow and controlled movements (until the wacky dancing begins, at least) reminds us of the Illuminati scene in Eyes Wide Shut but we're hoping she has joined the ranks of pop stars who are rumoured to be members of the secret society (Rihanna, Jay Z and Beyonce, even Britney Spears...) Miss Welch is increasingly celebrated by the fashion and music cognoscenti and this video further cements her arrival in the super league with the classiest product placement we have seen in a while (hello, Piaget watches) and lavish production, not to mention the Valentino, but the real mark of cool?
