Vivienne Westwood returns to U.S.
Punk pioneer Vivienne Westwood is returning to the U.S. after a nine-year absence; the designer has recently announced that she will be opening a self-titled store in Los Angeles in May. The Melrose Ave store will be Westwood’s first American retail endeavour since her New York store was closed down after the terrorist attacks of September the 11th, 2001. Westwood has confirmed that the new store will house all her current labels, including Red Label, Gold Label, Man, Anglomania as well as a new line entitled World’s End. The store will undoubtedly continue to spread the influence of Westwood’s eclectic extravagance beyond Britain, where she has been a seminal figure in the development of culture and style over the past 40 years.

Walls to wear Westwood
Vivienne Westwood has turned her attention to interior design with a line of striking wallpaper prints, created in collaboration with print specialists Cole & Sons. Inspiration for the designs has come from various, iconic prints which span the length of her busy career, including the Magnolia print (pictured).
Westwood's signature motifs, including tartan and the Union Jack, have been reworked for the new collection, as well as one-off prints, such as the Squiggle print from her Pirate autumn/winter 1981/82 collection.
Westwood was pleased to see her "ideas get carried over into other artistic media," she commented to Vogue UK.

Vivienne Westwood and Anvil Knitwear to the rescue!
Fashion heavy-weight Vivienne Westwood has teamed up with Anvil Knitwear to create a limited edition T-shirt in the battle to stop deforestation. Throwing their support behind the efforts of Rainforest Nations at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen to stop deforestation, Westwood told press she was proud to take part in the cause. "I am so glad to have had the opportunity to do this tiny, tiny thing ...every little bit helps." "'Act fast, slow down and stop climate change' - that's the message. We must all commit ourselves. Say 'yes' to the rainforest," Westwood added. The blood red t-shirt features a collision of slogans, with sly Westwood signature details. Kevin Conras, exec director of the Coalition for Rainforest Nations and Papua New Guinea's Special Envoy Ambassador for Environment and Climate Change on choosing Westwood explained: "We are truly honoured to have Vivienne and Anvil supporting the rainforest cause. We hope that the launch of these fabulous T-shirts will help draw more attention to deforestation and the plight of our citizens who are now on the frontline in the battle against climate change."
No news as to when the t-shirts will be on sale to the public.

Vivienne Westwood at London Fashion Week
Stars were out in full force to front-row Vivienne Westwood’s “Back to School” Red Label show at Olympia, in Hammersmith over the weekend. Infamously known for her slightly outrageous punk designs throughout the 70’s, Westwood managed to put a new spin on an age old attitude as girls paraded in skewed uniform-style outfits with striped school scarves, interesting pleated plaid skirts and gorgeous blazers and coats, one even with a gold tasselled tricorn to match. As reported by the Telegraph. Co.uk, she cleverly “cast Jo Wood, the estranged wife of Rolling Stone, Ronnie Wood, as the school’s headmistress, in a three-piece trouser suit and a scarlet academic robe, based on the ones she designed for King’s College in London. The exaggerated shoulder – long a signature of Westwood’s work and undergoing a comeback for next autumn/winter – featured in brocade and silk dresses, with triangular sleeves."
