On Tonight: Wasteland

Wasteland Gallery on King Street, Perth, presents the new works of artist Ben Frost in his latest solo exhibition, which opens tonight. This is the much anticipated exhibition to mark Ben's second assault on Perth, and fans of the controversial artist will not be disappointed, with the opportunity to purchase new work, limited editions, and meet one of Australia's most popular contemporary artists.

Frost's work is "a statement on society's continuing loss of innocence and the capitalists-corporate-western-death-machine that we are living in". His works attempt to devalue this machine by mis-using mascots and logos.... Frost says: "As the public we can't have any impact on corporations and what they do to society. So one way of taking back that power is to play with their mascots. In a sense it gives me and then anyone who views it a sense of power."
