Oyster and Soludos Endless Summer Competition Winner

We catch up with the lucky person who has won a trip for two to New York and the Hamptons.

The wait is over and we've picked the winner for the Oyster and Soludos Endless Summer competition. We asked you to show us a photo which captured the ultimate summer and made us wish we were there, and the hundreds upon hundreds of entries that we received well and truly amazed us. It was a tough decision, but Jacinta Moore from Fitzroy North, Melbourne, is the lucky winner. Congratulations! Jacinta will be embarking on a trip for two to New York, where her and her companion will have a few days to explore the city that never sleeps, before heading to the Hamptons to hang out at the beach.

Jacinta (who coincidentally has a great blog) submitted the dreamy snap above of her chilling out in the Mediterranean Sea. It definitely made us wish we were there. Read more about her winning photograph below, and check out some of our favourite halcyon dream-inducing shots here.

Ingrid Kesa: What was your initial thought when you found out that you had won the competition?
Jacinta Moore: A mixture of confusion/cynicism/shock/excitement! I had totally forgotten I'd ever entered and thought it was a telemarketer calling me when I heard I'd 'won' something. I think I was a bit rude on the phone actually (sorry)!

Can you tell us a little bit about your winning photo? What's the story behind it?
My photo was taken in Cinque Terre, Italy where I spent a too-short few days in the Summer of 2010. I was travelling alone but blissing out hard on the perfect summer vibes so ended up just shooting a whole series of photos on a crappy disposable camera, possibly the best $12 I've ever spent - of my feet floating in the Mediterranean Sea. So dreamy! [You can see the whole series here]

Have you been to New York before?
Never! It was next on my list though so I'm pretty stoked.

What are you most looking forward to about your holiday?
All of it, really! I can't think of any one part that sounds more exciting than the rest!

Who are you taking?
My BFF Apryl. It will be our first overseas trip together despite 13 years of friendship!

The thing I love most about photography is?
The way it teaches you seek out beauty in the world.

Five runners-up will also receive pairs of Soludos and will be contacted shortly.
