Oyster Fashion: Petra Collins x Prince Innocence

She shoots the synth-pop band in a high school parking lot at sunset.

Talvi and I have been close friends for a couple years now. I forget how we met but I'm so glad we did. I have been taking photos of her for quite a while now; she is beautiful and really talented. She just started a band with her boyfriend Josh Mcintyre called Prince Innocence. Their music has elements of 80s Cold Wave layered with pop vocals. They have only released a handful of songs and are releasing a full length EP in early 2013 under Pretty Pretty Records. I love their music — it's so dreamy and nostalgic yet bleak and abrasive, I guess it sort of reminds me of Twin Peaks

We shot these photos at my apartment and in the parking lot of Oakwood High School as the sun was setting. My friend Drew just got his learner's permit and a new car — his grandma's, the one in the photos — so we got him to drive down. In Canada you can only drive with a learner's permit if you are accompanied by someone with a full valid driver's license. Naturally his cool dad came. Shout out to Drew and Doug Picklyk for lending us the sweet ride! We watched the sun set as we ate Fritos between shots and blasted some tunes from the car.
