Oyster Travel: Charlie Brophy's Europe

Sail away, sail away…

Oyster contributor Charlie Brophy usually photographs fashion shoots like this and this, but she's been travelling lately and as such, she's produced a series of travel diaries especially for us — taken in India, Laos/Bankok and, in this edition, Europe. We asked the talented young thing some travel related questions, to inspire our weekend.

Where were you?
Barcelona, Cadaqués, Amsterdam, Berlin & London

With who?
I was travelling solo and then met up with friends.

How long for?
Three months.

Why?
For a new adventure.

Best memory?
"Life is a holiday."

Worst memory?
Losing my memory.

Favourite smells?
The smell of summer in Europe.

Favourite sights?
The different colour pallets specific to each city. Especially at golden hour, just before the sun sets.

Best 'local' story/encounter?
On the first morning I awoke at the artists studio and Cyborb Foundation in Barcelona. The founder dreamt he had a piano so we set out to buy one that day, brought it home on a forklift and he played amazingly to people on the streets of Born.

If you could do it all again...
I wouldn't change a thing.
