Pedro Almodovar for Missoni

The filmmaker stars in the label's Spring campaign.

With his trademark shock of gravity-defying white hair, iconic filmmaker Pedro Almodovar fronts Missoni's Spring 2012 campaign shot at Madrid nightclub Villa Rosa. Lensed by Juergen Teller, Almodovar was asked by close friend Angela Missoni to model for the brand alongside herself, daughters Teresa and Margherita and three Almodovar muses - Bianca Suarez, who was in the auteur's most recent film, The Skin I Live In, with Antonio Banderas; Rossy de Palma, the eccentric actress discovered by Almodovar in a Madrid cafe and later cast in several of his films; and model Mariacarla Boscono, who was shot with Almodovar in a 2010 Harper's Bazaar spread which featured actors and models posing in scenes recreated from the director's films. Another fun fact: Villa Rosa was a location in Almodovar's 1991 film High Heels. Angela Missoni told WWD, "You eat tapas and dance flamenco there." Those quintessentially Spanish pastimes come through in the photos - we imagine the Missoni clan, Almodovar and his muses posing together while enjoying some sangria, paella and a little dancing.
