Exclusive Premiere: Wax Witches' 'Alone' Video & Ticket Giveaway

Alex Wall from Bleeding Knees Club releases his first solo video, and it rules.

In between playing in one of the funnest bands of the new millennium (Bleeding Knees Club), taking photos of hot goths, designing t-shirts and reporting on the world of high fashion, Alex Wall also mans a musical side-project called Wax Witches

Wax Witches have just released their debut album Celebrity Beatings. The sound is like what would happen if Blink 182 met Bad Brains and they got high off poppers in your parents garage. Bratty, snotty and lo-fi, it makes sense that Alex singlehandedly recorded it in his bedroom.

The teenage nostalgia carries over to Wax Witches' first ever video — which we can share with you exclusively! 'Alone' was directed and filmed by Nick Chalmers and comes across like some 90s oddity you stumbled across in the early hours of the morning on Rage. Encapsulating Wax Witches' angst, the video features lava lamps, pizza, Niravan posters and just a touch of pyromania. Alex wears a backwards cap while eating Fruit Loops from the box, drinking juice from the carton, jumping on the bed and shredding on guitar in a skatepark. Standard behaviour.

To launch Celebrity Beatings, Wax Witches will play their first live shows this week alongside Step-Panther and Foam. They'll play at Goodgod in Sydney this Friday and at The Gasometer in Melbourne on Saturday night. We've got a double pass to each show to give away! The competion closes at 5pm on Thursday 14 March and winners will be notified by email at 6pm that day. Please note that you will need to be over 18 to enter — sorry teenage girls
