Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
The violent zombie mayhem of 19th century England - on film!
If the 2005 film adaptation of Jane Austen's classic, Pride and Prejudice, was not your cup of tea, then Lionsgate's upcoming film Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, based on the book co-authored by Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith, could be more your thing.
The long-anticipated adaptation has an impressive crew behind it - Sydney-born Craig Gillespie, of Lars and the Real Girl acclaim, will be directing the flim, while Natalie Portman's Handsomecharlie Films and Darko Entertainment will produce. Portman will also star in the film.

Gillespie is also currently directing the upcoming Fright Night remake starring Colin Farrel, a comedy-horror about vampires that looks set to be more hilarious than Twilight. The director's ability to work across genre-bending horror and elegant character-driven comedy, makes him a perfect fit for this venture into the violent zombie mayhem of 19th century England. Hopefully he agrees - the screen adaptation has so far been abandoned by two other directors and we would hate to see it forever doomed, left to roam among the undead.
