Rei Kawakubo x Hermès

Start queuing now.

Today WWD revealed that Rei Kawakubo has collaborated with Hermès on a limited-edition scarf collection. We don't have a visual on the scarves yet but the collection, called 'Commes des Carrés', is comprised of two lines: Noir et Blanc, which will be sold exclusively in Comme des Garçons stores in Tokyo, New York and Paris, and 'Couleur', which will only be available at Rei's London and Tokyo-based emporium Dover Street Market.

Prices for the scarves start at 380 euros and go up to 1600 euros, but they're bound to sell like hotcakes given the success of Rei's prior collaborations — she's teamed up with everyone from H&M, Speedo, Azzedine Alaïa and Matt Groening. Also, this is a woman who made many people (including me) lust after brightly coloured, giant cookie-cutter shaped felt jackets and shorts last season. Not such an obvious trend, but there's nothing she can't do!

Commes des Carrés will be available in February.
