Romance Was Born AW12 Lookbook

Girl Guides, the great outdoors and disco.

Girl Guides aren't usually held up as style icons, but they are one of the inspirations behind Romance Was Born's AW12 collection. Called 'Happy Campers', embroidered denim takes a trip down memory lane to folk craft in the seventies, while shearling panels, Pendleton-esque prints, fluro piping and pockets, knapsacks and parkas all reference Girl Guides and the great outdoors. Morrocan rag rugs are another influence, seen through the shaggy sweaters and kaleidoscope of colours, while ceramic Scheurich vases inspire the earthy tones. Disco is another inspiration (it is Romance Was Born after all!) coming through with the inclusion of metallic lame.
