Saint Laurent Sells $68,000 Babydoll Dress
As worn by Cara Delevingne in the Fall 2013 campaign.
If you thought $39,000 for a Row backpack was just a tiny bit steep, prepare to weep over the news that Saint Laurent is selling a 90s-inspired floral babydoll dress for $68,000. The (ostensibly forgettable) garment in question is worn by Cara Delevingne in the label's Fall 2013 campaign.
Style.com reported the preposterous price tag when writing about Saint Laurent's new Soho store, explaining that the dress is embellished, but not explaining what the dress is embellished with. For $68,000, here's hoping said embellishment involves gold sourced from Anicent Egypt, pearls from the depths of the dead sea and unicorn tears, all glued together with Beyonce's sweat (keeping in mind that, as The Fashion Spot points out, Chanel couture starts at 30K).
Last month, Saint Laurent also had a $61,000 polyester jacket listed on their British online store (below).
Hedi, I love you, but I think I need some space.
