See the Pirelli 2012 Calendar in All Its Glory

Kate Moss, Lara Stone, Milla Jovovich, Natasha Poly, Rinko Kikuchi and more!

Have you heard the one about the tyre manufacturing company that has every supermodel in the world practically begging to be photographed naked for its annual calendar? The Pirelli company make tyres first, exclusive cult-status calendars second. The 2012 Pirelli calendar has just been released, and it's one of their most-hyped thanks to appearances by Kate Moss, Lara Stone, Milla Jovovich (above), Natasha Poly, Isabeli Fontana, Saskia de Brauw, Joan Smalls, Guinevere Van Seenus, Malgosia, Edita Vilkevicute, Margareth Made, and Rinko Kikuchi.

Shot on location in Corsica by Mario Sorrenti, the 2012 edition apparently wanted to emphasise natural female beauty. And there's no better way to achieve that aim than to photograph 12 of the world's biggest babes half-naked in a variety of locations including but not limited to rolling hills, forests and rockpools.

The calendar is incredibly sought after as it can't be bought and is only given to VIP Pirelli customers (how many tyres do you think you have to buy to qualify?) and other various high-fliers. Pointless (and slightly creepy) fact: Prince Andrew is a regular recipient. This year's VIPs will not only be reminded why Miss Moss is A Big Deal, they will now finally know what Rinko Kikuchi looks like when she goes skinny dipping, and have a fair idea of what it would be like to have a very wet Milla Jovovich turn up to a garden party.

The raw, elemental feel of the 2012 edition builds on the success of previous years that have seen plenty of Oyster's favourites, including Daisy Lowe, Miranda Kerr and Anja Rubik, get their gear off and their pout on for the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Terry Richardson and Patrick Demarchelier.

In Oyster's upcoming #96 issue, we hung out with Daisy Lowe and she told us all about her experience shooting the 2010 Pirelli Calendar with Terry Richardson, Miranda Kerr, Catherine McNeil, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Lily Cole and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. "There were eleven of us running around on this island... and we got to roll around in this amazing underwear for about a week. OK... so that didn't reeeally feel like work!" She went on to call Richardson "one of the most fun people in the industry" and said that bunking up with Huntington-Whiteley was "really cute". Oh and in case you were wondering... when they weren't rolling around on the beach with Richardson they would just "hang out and chill and gossip and drink margaritas."
