Met Ball 2012 Red Carpet Rundown

Anna Wintour's gold lobster, Lana Del Rey's cape, Kanye's not-kilt, Brooke Shields' walking cane and more.

It’s that time of the year again, when celebrities and New York’s 1% don their fanciest attire and we get to provide unsolicited commentary of said fancy attire from behind our computer screens. A few hours ago in New York, the Met Ball was held — the annual event hosted by Vogue and overseen by Anna Wintour that raises millions of dollars for the Metropolitan Musuem of Art whilst being #chictothenextlev in the process. The theme of this year's exhibition is Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations, honoring these two Italian fashion houses. Muiccia, despite taking a tumble from her platform shoes before the event, was there in attendance, while Schiaparelli today announced that it would be relaunching after its late founder Elsa Schiaparelli closed the label in 1954.

Here's our exclusive behind-the-scenes video from the exhibition launch, including an interview with Baz Luhrmann who directed Impossible Conversations starring Judy Davis as Elsa Schiaparelli. And don't forget to check out part two of our rundown.
