Social Snaps: Havaianas 50th Anniversary Party

The rubber thong celebrates in style.

Yesterday Havaianas celebrated their 50th anniversary with a Brazilian-themed street party. The affair was held at the Havaianas HQ in Sydney, which coincidentally was where MasterChef was filmed (we were waiting the whole time for Hayden to emerge). The courtyard was decorated with colourful bunting flags and fairy lights, while floral fabrics, pineapples and palm trees radiated serious tropical vibes. After we got over our office envy, we went inside to be greeted with coconut cocktails created especially for the event and a next-level cheese platter. Catering was provided by Matt Moran and reflecting Havaianas' animal liberation inklings, the menu was red meat-free, instead featuring scallops, seafood skewers, grilled haloumi and other things which make me hungry to think about. There was even a giant Havaianas cake! Our Deputy Editor and DJ queen Ariane provided sick beats (although it is unclear whether she played 'Thong Song' by Sisqo).
