Stella McCartney x Rihanna
Plus Stella, Alexa and more in the running for this year's British Fashion Awards.
Out with the mood boards and in with the "mood calls". Following the news that Rihanna will design her own fashion line for UK high-street label River Island, it's now rumoured that she will also be collaborating with Stella McCartney on a collection in the not-too-distant future.
According to the Daily Mail, the pair have been "having regular chats". These conversations, otherwise known as "mood calls", apparently involve Rihanna relaying the colours, textures and patterns that have inspired her mood for the day. This might seem bizarre, but it could herald a new direction for Stella's label, which has just been nominated for the top accolade in the British Fashion Awards 2012.
The shortlist for this year's BFA sees Stella leading the pack with three nominations. She will go head-to-head with Mary Katrantzou and Christopher Kane for the top honour, Designer of the Year. She has also been nominated for best Designer Brand, alongside Alexander McQueen, Mulberry and Burberry, as well as the Red Carpet Award (which she won last year).
Meanwhile, Australian representative Jordan Askill is up for the Emerging Talent award in the Accessories category, and Cara Delevingne will battle it out with Jourdan Dunn and David Gandy for Model of the Year.

Alexa Chung will be looking to secure her third consecutive year holding the gong for British Style Award, which is decided according to public vote.

Bets on, people.
