Tavi Gevinson & Iris Apfel Front Alexis Bittar SS15 Campaign

Who run the world.

Alexis Bittar is the latest label to forgo models in favour of cultural icons following luxuries Céline and Saint Laurent casting some bonafied cultural legends as campaign stars last week.

Tavi Gevinson and Iris Apfel, 19 and 93 years old respectively, look equally babin' in the New York jewellery designer's SS15 campaign preview (above) shot by Terry Tsiolis, speaking to a level of fandom that goes beyond a typical trend-driven approach.

"For the campaign, we honed in on the essence of strong women who haven't conformed. Tavi is so strong and so bright. Iris is kind of like a mother to me at this point and was probably a little bit annoyed that I never asked her to be in an ad [before]," Bittar told WWD.

Last week we saw Joan Didion become the face of Céline...

...and Joni Mitchell front a Saint Laurent campaign.

And late last year Nars cast both Tilda Swinton...

...and Charlotte Rampling in beauty campaigns.

And earlier in the year the queen of quality long-form television Jessica Lange held strong as the face of Marc Jacobs beauty.

Growing up never looked so good.
